Happy Feet study of Australian working community finds simply moving more can improve mental health

Research by leading epidemiologist Professor Maximilian de Courten at Victoria University has found evidence to support the mental health benefits of walking 10,000 steps per day. Congratulations to Professor de Courten, our placement as the Director of the Centre for Chronic Disease Prevention and Management. We hope this important research gets continued support, and, vitally - that more people and workplaces get involved in health promotion and more active living, for the benefit of society. The study has just been published in BMC Psychiatry and is available via open access here
